The Church is a Family, Not a Building
The Church is far more than the structure where we meet; it’s the people who gather, serve, and build relationships that truly bring it to life. Every church is unique, and it’s that uniqueness—rooted in the diversity of its people—that forms a family. Our community thrives on the dedication of those who volunteer their time, talents, and hearts. From teaching children to organizing meals and events, every act of service helps shape who we are together. It’s not just about filling roles but about creating a sense of belonging and connection. When we think of our church, we don’t see walls or locations—we see a family that makes this place a true home.
Discipleship is a Slow Burn, Not a Sparkler
Discipleship is not a quick fix; it’s a long, slow journey of growth and transformation. Life often doesn’t provide easy answers to our struggles or triumphs, but we continue moving forward. In those moments of feeling stuck or unsure, we’re faced with the question: “Who will I become as I keep walking down this road?” Jesus reminds us in Matthew 10:39 that losing our life for His sake means finding our true life. Discipleship isn’t just about the future; it’s about living faithfully in the here and now. It’s a process of letting go of what we think our lives should be and embracing the journey God has set before us. As a church, we are part of each other's stories, learning and growing together. Though the path may feel slow and uncertain, the impact often becomes clear only when we look back.
Leadership is Guided by God, Not Ego
True leadership, especially in the church, isn’t about pushing our own agendas or seeing our visions realized. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that leadership means control, but Jesus teaches us a different way. Leading like Christ means surrendering our plans to God’s greater purpose and being open to His guidance—even when it comes through others in the community. God often speaks through unexpected voices, reminding us that the church belongs to Him first and foremost. Our leadership, then, becomes less about authority and more about humility, listening, and faithfully responding to God’s call. It’s not about one person’s vision but the collective faithfulness of the whole community, guided by God’s ongoing work among us.
Not Popularity, But Purpose
In a world that measures success by numbers and visible impact, it’s easy to get caught up in the comparison game. But God calls us to a different standard. In Isaiah 41:10, God tells His people not to “anxiously look around” but to trust in His presence. As a church, our success isn’t defined by attendance or budgets but by obedience and faithfulness to God’s purpose. Each act of trust and every step of faith, however small, brings us closer to what God is doing in and through us. While it’s tempting to compare ourselves to others, our journey is unique, and God’s work in our community is unlike any other. We are called to ask, “Lord, what are You doing now?” and to follow wherever that leads, trusting that it’s the right path for us.
Not a Church Plant, But a Kingdom HQ
The church is more than a gathering; it’s a launch pad for God’s kingdom work in the world. We are not just here to grow an organization but to be a hub where God’s love, justice, and beauty flow outward into every corner of life. Our community isn’t confined to Sunday services; it extends into homes, workplaces, coffee shops, parks, and beyond. Wherever we go, we carry the love of God with us, making His presence known in everyday spaces. As members of the church, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves—a greater kingdom vision that spans all aspects of life. We exist to bring God’s will and love to the forefront, wherever we are planted.
Conclusion
As you reflect on the past year, take some time with your family, friends, or children to talk about the highs and what God has taught you. Consider what He has done in your lives and how He has been present in your journey.
